pillarPERFORMANCE offers one-on-one personal training. Our sessions last one hour and are facilitated by one of our highly-qualified certified professionals. Each workout is designed by our training staff specifically for you and your goals, catered to your body and your individual needs. Whether your goal is to improve muscle strength and definition, body fat loss, injury rehabilitation, or general fitness, we have what you need.

Personal training at pillarPERFORMANCE begins with a comprehensive initial evaluation consisting of a goal evaluation, body composition testing and measurements, and a thorough movement analysis to determine joint and muscle range of motion, strength, and to recognize potential challenging areas. Each hour-long personal training session is structured differently, depending on the goals of the individual. At pillarPERFORMANCE we believe in the importance of developing "functional" strength. The essence of functional strength is strength that can be applied to movements specific to our individual daily lives. This incorporates muscle strength, endurance, balance, and core strength. We also recognize the importance of core movements requiring the use of the entire kinetic chain in multiple planes of motion to achieve a result that most closely resembles basic human movement patterns.

Here's an overview of what a typical personal training session can include:
  • Strength training to improve muscle mass and definition as well as bone density
  • Core conditioning to improve abdominal and low back strength, posture and stability
  • Balance training to improve spatial awareness and decrease injury potential
  • Cardiovascular training to improve endurance and cardiac capacity
  • Flexibility training to improve functional range of motion of joints and muscles

It is our job to ensure that you leave our facility feeling like you've worked hard. This is accomplished by compounding exercises using similar muscle groups or incorporating cardiovascular work into your strength training session in a circuit-style fashion. Every workout will be different. You will never find yourself doing the same workout two days in a row or even two months in a row. This is because variation is a key to continued improvement and success, and we want you to always improve and succeed in your goals. We strongly believe in the utilization of free-weight and body weight exercises. Therefore, our facility has been stripped down to the essentials, leaving a free and open space that is comfortable to train in without feeling cramped.

We believe that sound nutrition is another key component to any fitness program. Therefore, at pillarPERFORMANCE, we incorporate nutritional education into our personal training sessions, focusing on proven nutritional principles and not relying on the latest trendy diet fads. We also have partnered up with @health (Tamara Renee-Nutritional Life Coach), a business specializing in nutritional education and meal service to ensure that our clients are eating what they need in order to reach their goals.

At pillarPERFORMANCE we incorporate all of these facets into our training sessions. In addition to our expertise in these areas, you will also get a partner in your journey to reach your goals. We will help you every step of the way, providing positive motivation and feedback as you exercise. In addition, we will give you an education on how your individual body works and how you can fine-tune it to work at its optimal potential. It's our mission to provide the highest quality of personal training available, and we are confident that you will agree.
